This honor is awarded to the professional driver displaying the highest degree of professionalism, safety and courtesy in performing his or her job and representing the trucking industry.

The NJMTA Fleet Safety Awards will be presented during the NJMTA 55th Annual Truck Driving Championships Awards Banquet on Saturday July 11, 2009. Except as noted, all accidents, regardless of preventability or non-preventability must be reported (not just DOT recordables). Exceptions are those involving fleet operated passenger cars and miscellaneous vehicles such as service trucks; those in which the fleet vehicle was legally parked; debris thrown up by a vehicle’s tires; objects falling from overhead; certain collisions with animals.

The NJMTA 55th Annual Truck Driving Championships and the 1st Step Van Driving Championships will be held at the Doubletree Hotel, Somerset, NJ on July 10-11, 2009. This unique event is an opportunity to recognize the skill, knowledge and personality of New Jersey’s top truck drivers.
